Limewire won't search?
 

I've used Limewire over and over again all the time and today it won't let me search anything. I used it just yesterday and it was perfectly fine. I am fully connected to the internet and have all bars. Is there a setting that I might have accidentally hit or something, please help me out!! Thanks!!

Providing LW is properly connected to the network:

1. LW 4: In LW go tools > options > searching > basic & check whether the 'show license warning' box is ticked. If it's ticked , untick it > Apply > ok...see if that makes any difference.

LW 5: In LW go tools > options > security. Click on the Settings button, next to Warning Messages > untick the box referring to license > ok. Click ok on the main options page.

3. Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).

This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them.

4. LW 4: Disable all options (TLS, DHT, UP capablilties) within LW's tools > options > advanced > performance. Click Apply > ok to save the change.

LW 5: In LW tools > options > advanced > super really advanced > performance. Disable ultrapeer capabilities, connecting to DHT & also TLS > ok.

My problem is similar. When I first start Limewire after starting my computer nothing when come up when I search for something. All the bars at the bottom are there and ive tried going to the security section and modifieng that and it wont work when I first get on. After an hour or two then it will finally work. Any suggestions?

What version of LW are you using? Have you been able to use other versions of LW in the past, without a problem?

Did you try changing ultrapeers that you connect to, deleting LW's preferences folder & disabling performance options (points 2, 3 & 4 in my post above)?

i have the same problemm i tried to do 2,3, and 4 but i have no ok button and when i close out it doesn't save the changes :(

i pushed the tab button and when i thought "ok" was selected i pushed enter. sorry if that doesn't help :(

I'm having the same problem using LW 4. Have tried the above mentioned suggestions but nothing has helped. Please advise what the next step might be.
