LimeWire 4.16.6 Won't Connect Anymore (out of the blue)

I haven't downloaded or changed anything on my computer, and one day out of the blue, my LimeWire stopped connecting (it has the one bar connection, and it's next to the firewall icon). I have looked at the FAQ and have done everything to try and solve this problem in the FAQ, but nothing has worked. LimeWire is listed as an exception on my Windows Firewall, and I tried deleting it and re-adding it, to no luck.

I run a cable modem (through MediaCom). I have a Linksys Router Model No. WRT310N (UPnP enabled). I have Windows XP. I have like 56 GB of space left. I have not downloaded any new software that would impede LimeWire from working; this all happened out of the blue one day. I don't have any anti-virus software besides what my Windows Security provides. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check these tips .. especially swapping the gnutella.net file with a new one: If LW 4 Will Not Connect (click on the blue link) :)

Tried it, nothing happened. I just don't understand how it'll work one day, and you don't do anything, and the next day it does this.

How about deleting your LW preferences folder, using the Start menu -> All Programs -> LW -> Uninstall, thus removing LW. Then re-installing LW 4.16. Remove & re-add firewall exception to your XP firewall. May need to again put in a fresh gnutella.net file.

Replace the Gnutella.net file

In User name\AppData\Roaming\Limewire replace the Gnutella.net file and hopefully that will work.
This happened to me after Vista/Win XP automatically updated with the new Service Pack 3 last week and when I replaced Gnutella.net everything was back to normal.
To get to the App Data folder you will have to go into the Control panel and the section "Folder options" and in the view section change the "view hidden files and folders" to approved so that you can see the App Data folder in the "User name" section of your files.
You can thank Lord of the Rings for this advice as it worked perfectly for me after I had tried everything else to try and solve this issue.

I was gone for the last few days, I didn't try any of these things, and starting today, I now have full connection again. I don't know what the deal is. If it happens again, I'll have to try some of these things you guys suggested. Thanks!
