Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

![]() hi i'm JT and new to the forum. i have used this version of limewire before then hadn't used it in a while. reinstalled o/s and reinstalled program now it only says "starting connection" & sharing 2,517 files. info that you request. 1. windows xp 2. windows firewall turned off, zone alarm security suite on and have LW in super trusted zone. 3. ram not sure but at least 1 gb 4. Hard drive space left 47gb 5. & 6. sprint card in linksys wireless "G" broadband router can't read model# i'm old ![]() 7. i work on a tugboat thats where the present set-up is. 8. limewire pro 4.9.23 java 1.5.0_03 9. i.s.p. internet explorer or google home page 10. your test worked 11. not sure personal laptop sharing wireless router 12. previously worked (hadn't used it in awhile) then re-installed o/s and limewire pro same version and it doesn't work. 13. i do see as brick wall in front of globe 14.tried to do port fwding no luck. need dns info. 15. zone alarm security suite vers. 9.0.083.000 16 U.S.A. 17. reinstalled o/s. due to virus. well thats all i have for you. any help would be greatly appreciated by myself and my 13 y.o. daughter ![]() John |

![]() firstly, DO NOT INCLUDE YOU EMAIL ADDY IN ANY POSTS AS THAT IS AGAINST THE RULES to find your dns info in XP do the following: Start>run>type in 'cmd' and hit enter>then type in the following command into the command prompt screen 'ipconfig /all' remove the ' ' of course...all of your ip configuration information will pop up...in that information is your dns server(s) you may have to specify a rule for LW in your zone alarm firewall..I know I have to using Kaspersky and it is typical to have to set a rule using any firewall

![]() sorry about the addy didn't see that in the rules as i read a bunch of stuff on this site today. i did that ipconfig thing and what it gave me didn't work as the web pages wouldn't load like that. can u explain in more detail about specifing a rule for zone alarm. i'm not that hip to the lingo. thanks JT |

![]() I've never used zone alarm, so I don't have a clue about its specifics... generally one will open up the program and go to its control panel for programs for Kaspersky its Protection>system security>application filtering....I'm sure if you fish around in your program you will find what you need...
