limewire not connecting?

I juse recently downloaded limewire, and when i go to search a song to add to my ipod, it will say "limewire is connecting" but just stay like that for hours. not loading or doing anything.

I have a toshiba laptop and windows 7 if that would help any.

Im new to this soo help please? lol :confused:
