Help! (no LW connection)

Hello everyone.
I'm jonac7. It's a pleasure and a privilege to become part of the Gnutella community.
I'm having a particular problem with Limewire...although I know I'm connected to the internet and I've even made Limewire an exception in my firewall, when I open Limewire, nothing appears and in the bottom left corner of the screen it reads; 'no internet connection'.
Can someone help correct this or advise me as to what I'm doing wrong.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Depending on whether you're using LW 4 or LW 5, there are various fixes to try.

If LW 5 Will Not Connect
(AFAIK you shouldn't need File_Girl's fix if you're using LWPirate Edition, so in that case have a look at the other fixes for now)

If LW 4 Will Not Connect

If nothing there helps, please post back with your system details (click on link): System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!!

Thank you for your help but I finally figured it out (duh)
Apparently there was a glitch in the original set up so I deleted the old one and re-installed it and it's working fine.
