I just recently upgraded to the latest Limewire. However, upon playing downloaded songs, they skip and jump like somethingis interfering. I'm sure it's something simple, but does am\nyone know why and how I can fix it?

Try using your own player. De-select the LW player.
and.. See section 6.11 LimeWire Troubleshooting FAQ

I have the same problem with Limewire's player. It pretty much is useless. Set up a different audioplayer like Winamp or Realplayer and set it as default. Instead of playing your songs from the Limewire Library, just go directly to where you saved your Limewire downloads. ( Windows/shared is the default) Open that up and all your songs should appear. Double click the song you want and it should play with your default player. ....That's what I do.
