Well, I'll tell you what, LimeWire sucks. Nothing is downloadable. EVERYTHING is delayed. After I paid $8.00, the service totally died. This is absoluterly useless...

You paid for Limewire the CLIENT not for the service!!! You download your files from people like you and me, AND YOU DON`T PAY ME!!!

Thumbs down Slow/No Downloads, bad zip, stuffit files

I am a new Limewire user. I would happily have paid the 8-9 bucks if this service worked. Downloads are slow to impossible, the two downloads I have been able to get in two days show a long file name with .zip as the extension, but automatically go to stuffit expander, however, neither winzip or stuffit expander will open the file, giving a message like "cannot write data into a file that has already been opened." This site and software seems to be just one more load of crap enticing you to send money. Why don't you guys do the right thing and help the users you are panhandling from?

You have to search for the same file with the same size file # and it s supposed to pick up where it left off.I just leave the incomplete files in the search area and have a couple of the sme song downloading at the same time.

Default Agree, service has deteriorated

Let me start by pointing out the irony of the Limewire developers asking for money because they all worked so hard developing this original code -- code we use to FREELY download the hard work of others.

What has happened lately? The service used to be terrific. A few weeks ago I could easily find and load what I was looking for. I share about 2000 songs via a DSL connection so I like to think I'm doing my part. Haven't been able to get anything for about 2 weeks now. Searches come back with plenty of results, but the queries run indefineately as they attempt to load up the music. It's as if suddenly everyone closed off their ports or severly decreased the bandwith Limewire uploads are allowed to consume.

Any reason we can identify for the sudden degradation in service? I've even paid for PRO thinking it would be better and that I could lose the money if it toally sucked out. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to buying CDs and ripping them for myself.

Cheers,

Well, Edonkey has been around for a LONG time, so I don't know about this "new" idea and "developing this original code". I'm not sure if edonkey has been around longer then limewire though, but it sure seems like it. It's not the point. I'm a modem user, and so far it seems that most people here that share files over DSL or cable just don't want to deal with modem users. I stumbled on some posts here about "leeches", and even though that for over two weeks I could not download anything that works, not to be a "leech" I'll share what ever I have left after my comp crashed. I can also garantee that everything I'll share simply WORKS.

Yes, I've noticed a suckage of limewire lately (or perhaps the gnutella network as a whole). Lately I've been getting excited when the download will get above 5k/sec! It's that bad! Anyway, I guess its back to audiogalaxy to download that wierd non-copyrighted music, and I'll have to use BestBuy again to get my copyrighted stuff .
