limewire autodownload cancels itself

i downloaded LimeWire Performance Enhancement just 2 b sure my download would b ok...its installed, everything seems ok.then i go back to download limewire. ok, i start to install & I get an error saying limewire detected that i dont have JRE standard edition v1.3.1 & that it need it to run. it tells me it will auto download the 5.2MB installer into a temp directory. great. sounds good to me. then, without me so much moving the mouse the download cancels. no explanation. all it says is limewire will now exit the installation. i hit ok & its says the install wizard was interupted b4 limewire could b installed, click finish to exit wizard. what the hell? did i do something? is my computer thrashed? is limewire sent from hell? help.....
