can't search my own SHARED files
 

Dear Any one

I have shared a file but it doesn't appear in any SEARCH results.

* Does it take a certain amount of time for a shared file to be pick up by the search engine?

* Is there a way to check whether my SHARED files can be searched for by other users?

You will never see your own files in your search results.

Hello!

You cannot see your own files on Gnutella because to do that you have to make an ingoing(incoming) connection and not outgoing which is what LW and all other gNET clients does.

As far as search engines are concerned there is none on Gnutella instead all servents including yourself function as one gigantic search engine together.You gets queried all the time when on Gnutella and you respond (With a Query Hit message)whenever you have a matching file in your Library(database).
