downloads are Queued!

Everytime I try to download any file from any server I get queued! This only started happening shortly after I updated to 2.5.5! Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks

And the download doesn't go anywhere either + there is no idication of where I am in the queue. Nothing but the word Queued comes up. It is like it's not even trying to download the file, let alone connect to the server. Limewire it's self is connected though!?

Thanks, Again

The queued and requery messages are very common with Gnutella as the big sharers are only a small percentage of the users - ie lots of people wanting to download and few people with available upload slots (especially with heavily demanded files).

There are a couple of things you can do to increase the chance of downloading though:

1. Search again - If Limewire finds the same file on another host , it may download.

2. Kill the download and select it again from the search results list. Don't do this repeatedly, or you'll help to flood the network with request trafiic.

I have tried that before. As soon as a download is selected from the search list it gets queued. At anytime of the day, and I've let a download wait for a whole day, and it didn't move anywhere. It didn't even send a requery message. I've tried re-installing Limewire but it made no difference.

But thanks a lot for your help. :D

This problem is in the Gnutella network, not in Limewire. Limewire can only download from hosts that have available upload bandwidth and cannot afford to clog up the network with requeries every 30 seconds. I've sometimes had files sitting with Requery for several days and then suddenly start downloading. As I said before, try searching for the file every once in a while and if Limewire turns up another host with the same file, it may download it. If you want to download a popular file, the only answer is to have patience.
