Bull $hit
 

This Limewire is a joke; I have owned it for a month and have not downloaded a damn thing worth while. I have no problems connecting but everything is in query all the time. Why did I buy this pace of crap? Damn it I wish Gnotella would come back.

The sad part is Gnotella1.0.5 was free and it worked better. I’ve got the latest version 2.6.3 of this POS.
They added all this new crap except what it needed. You still can’t monitor your uploads.

I’m pissed of to say the least.

Yes I am shearing; I'm shearing a ton of stuff.
And yes I know about the view menu, it doesn’t have $hit about uploading. The only options it has is
1. connections
2. Monitor
3. Library
Like I said, Gnotella use to actually show you how many files the users were shearing. It just seems that I’ve always got 4 or more people uploading from me yet all my downloads are doing nothing. Every once in awhile I get something going and then it ends up timing out before it downloads, almost like the network got bogged down.

i tried once again to download just one song. and, surprisingly enough, limewire couldn't even find ONE choice to download. it is a complete waste of time to even try using this junk. i have a mac, and i try to justify to PC users how macs are good computers. but when the program designers create programs like limewire, which are a joke, then it becomes hard to believe that macs are worth it at all. i just want one program JUST ONE that actually works.

You can't really make a judgment like that until you try to download the same song using two different Gnutella clients side by side. It may happen that none of the hosts who had that song were online at the time -- hardly the fault of Limewire.

Perhaps you have an improperly configured IP address. I do filter people who configure their IP address improperly (like using 192.168.0.1). At least I know Limewire filters that from searches; I don't know about upload requests.

Also, I share a bunch of files (some of which are unique, downloaded many times, but for some reason not shared by others), but I don't have it running all the time. So if you tried to download something I have, you'd be stuck waiting until I reactivated Limewire.

It's also possible that others are denying download requests from limewire. Who knows? All I know is I get enough out of it to satisfy me.
