Corrupt Files

This is really getting to be an issue, and I cannot believe that there are so many IDIOTS out there that are recording corrupted songs... and at the level to which they are being corrupted. I have been into MP3's from the BEGINNING (1997) and I would occasionally burn bad tracks with 'some' skips, but nothing to the corrupted MP3's that I am receiving.

I have tried downloads from different bands, different users, single users, grouped users, songs that had file names indicative of a straight CD rip with software like MusicMatch... and I still get CRAP!!!

NAPSTER WAS NEVER A FREAKING PROBLEM!!! What in the H is going on here?

I am moving over to some other Gnutella clients to see if it is such a problem with their software (even though I hate most of them as the LimeWire interface rocks).

REGISTERED LIMEWIRE PRO USER TIRED OF WASTING TIME AND GETTING NOTHING... HELL, MY HOURLY RATE IS SUCH THAT I COULD BUY ALL THIS MUSIC AND WORK INSTEAD.

In true Duke Nukem fashion... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Please read the following thread if your want information. However if you just want to vent you can ignore the information.

Thank you for the information, but it really wasn't helpful as I have tried a few things, including resume, to try to download these files successfully.

The funny thing about this is that LimeWire never had this problem prior to a specific version of its software (the version # escapes me, but I remember other posts at the time saying "wazzup with this new version?").

I just loaded BearShare 4.1.0 and successfully downloaded, on the FIRST ATTEMPT, two of the same exact songs that I was having an issue with on LimeWire. It is their software, and I wish everyone would stop making excuses about "bad burns" and the music industry lacing posts with bogus files... it is LimeWire that is bogus, period.

In addition, BearShare rocks with speed... getting 2 songs via cable in less than 60 secs is what I expect and used to achieve with LimeWire.

It is a shame, I still prefer their interface... maybe I will check back in with it after a few more versions are released.

RIAA May be to Blame!

The RIAA is starting to put SPOOFED SONGS on Gnutella, as well as companies like Medadefender!

The record industry, does not like LimeWire, BearShare, and the like.

What we need is some way to block them, such as a rating system, or a "block checksum" or "Block IP" feature.

LimeWire has a rating system, and allows you to block/filter IP addresses.
