Na-a-ah

After reading all the fixes, stickies, complaints and
rants I have one conclusion:

do not BUY Pro if you are happy with the free version.
I am still waiting for an answer from the support people
and all I get is 90% of a download and then "requery".

Any files bigger than 3-4 megs are pretty much doomed to
failure. I would like to hear from anyone else with the same
or different experiences.

"For me anyway is to find an alternative to this CHEESEY program.
Some of the files I download don't even show up in the "Shared"
file. They don't exist even though LameWire shows the progress
of the download and shows "complete" when it's finished.

But that's only one in a large group of bugs. I've read the FAQ
bought the Pro version and tried the support route in vain.

I AM SORRY I PURCHASED PRO

Caveat Emptor"
==========quote from your previous post===============

This will be the last constructive response you will receive for your posts on this forum!

The issues you raise in your posts again, are not necessarily LimeWire problems but just like yourself, people are more interested in getting things from the network than they are contributing to the network. As a result people connect to the network download a couple things and then disconnect-- this is without regards to anyone who might be uploading from them. (there's nothing anybody can do about this.)

Now, depending on the type of content you try to download media companies have contracts with companies to put up servers with modified clients these clients, use a variety of methodologies to frustrate a potential downloader. This can include partial download, corrupt files or simply completely bogus files.

After considering these things- and you decide that Limewire is still the problem. You are free to use alternative products. There are many alternatives to LimeWire but, I am willing to speculate that you will have similar problems elsewhere.

good luck-hope this helps.

**You are free to use alternative products.**

Wow, that's really big of you.

#1) The problems I have been pointing out are not the results
of "spoilers", people who just want to frustrate by killing downloads.
I know this because I have downloaded them EVENTUALLY, after
hours and hours of RESUMING, REQUERY and etc.

#2) I have read volumes of your stickies, etc. Even the FAQ. In fact
RTFM is one of my favorite rings and I feel very few people DO read
them.

#3) I have (had) 23 very desireable files at all times on my box and
purposely leave my computer on all night to facilitate others. Some
people "get it" some people do not. I am one of the former group.

#4) The plain matter of fact is that once I setup Pro with all the etc's
and options carefully gleaned from the forum (after a few days) my
download capacity was shiznit.

#5) Since then I have sent three posts to support and have yet to
receive an answer. So if Pro's one large advantage is support, I was
chiseled for $9.50.

#6) I am not in a hurry, I am not a disgruntled guy nor am I dissing
your fine program, I'm sure it works for someone or else it would have
vanished long ago. I am only expressing MY experience, which after all
should be ok since this is a forum.

#7) Files smaller than...say, 7 megs are actually downloading ok.
Anything over that I have problems with. To test this I and a friend
arranged to put a file with a unique name (fubar.sit) that was about
14 megs so I could search for it and download it from her through
LimeWire (both DSL). Same thing...many requeries, O kbs, and sure
enough after 90% of the download it slowed and stopped. We switched
and same thing for her. EVENTUALLY, YES I did download the file.

Perhaps the problem has so many variables that it's difficult to fix with
just a few solutions. I don't know. However I should be free to express
my own experience.

As for my original post. TRUTH, the problem began with Pro. I will try
again with the free version. Gee, I hope I am free to do that?

By the way, it is apparent that someone (coders) have done a lot of work
and I am grateful for a wonderful program. However, no reply from support
after three emails and two weeks is kind of a burn.
