Load balancing There are times when LimeWire shows less uploads than the max, and balances the bandwidth between them as if the max uploads were in progress. Upon checking the "Tool->Stastics", it shows "Current Uploads" as the amount it shows active in the upload que. I have no idea what is causing this discrepancy. --- Further load balancing --- I allocate 24KB to upstream, and allow 3 users to fetch from me. This results in 8KB/sec transfers, unless I get a modem user (or just a laggy downloader). Now, if I've got a modem user taking 3KB/sec instead of 8KB, I'm sure the other fetchers could benifit from having the excess 5KB devoted to them. Worse, if you've got more upstream bandwidth than I do, then modem users will have a greater discrepancy! |
a fellow by the name of gregorio has sent in a patch that fixes the second issue you mentioned. i believe the limewire team is testing it, since uploading is rather integral. i personally am using his patch and it works wonders. :) i'm not sure what could cause the first issue. |
