Downloading - Surely I'm Wrong!!

I've been watching uploads and downloads and I'm slowly coming to the opinion that LW does some *strange* things.

If someone is downloading (or I am uploading) LW quite often 'stops' the transfer in favour of someone else starting a totally seperate transfer.

Surely not... surely it is a first come first serve basis (unless you have files queued up).

As far as I can see, I can spend 30 mins downloading a file, get to 90% and have someone else come along and take me 'slot' (and more often than not, I never manage to complete the transfer).

This is also highlighted in the 'requery' problem that SO many people seem to be experiencing. I do a search, get a 4 star result, start the download then (for example) half way through, it goes into 'requery'. I then research and the SAME host is found, but this time only 3 stars (no slots) and my download hasn't continued.

I've recently come back to LW for the first time in 6 months and the amount of searches that fail seems to have increased dramatically (and I'm sure it's not because the host goes offline).
