1607: Unable to Install SheildScripting Runtime.
 

No matter what version i download this alway's stops me from installing limewire... I had limewire on this computer a week ago, but then it crashed and i had to do a system restore! Could it be something to do with the previouse version of LIMEWIRE or the JAVA RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT...? Or could it have something to do with my file system being 32-bit!!

I would really appreciate any help i can get, its driving me crazy!!!!!

What is your operating system? There might be files in the registry from the old Limewire version. Have you tried to go into Control Panel and went to "Remove Programs" and try wiping Limewire through uninstall, then reload? I am running 2.8.6 and it sucks, can't download a darned thing. I am looking for another program.

I installed windows xp onto my computer and it didn't let me delete windows 98!! I tried to delete windows 98 manually, but i deleted a wrong file and i couldn't log onto either operating sytem! I had to do a system restore, and after that i got windows 98 back... But limewire started to give me the 1607 error. Do you think that because i had directX9 on the system before i did the restore, that it screwed up that program? The program say's that u cant delete directX after u install it?
