Hi Andrew

There are lots of ideas already posted (just search for "Movie" or something like that, especially in the OSX forum). Maybe one wil fit your situation. Here's a link to help you get started http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=19667

Cheers

You probably dont have the proper codecs to view. Most often people dont have the most up to date divx codec, or the xvid codec is another one people generally dont have.

Interesting. Where can they be found, and how are they installed?

For divx go to http://www.divx.com/ and I recommend downloading the free version so you dont have to worry about the spy/adware.

For xvid which is one of the main reasons why people cant see videos after theyve downloaded them, at least this is what ive noticed from my experience with people telling me my movies dont work. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html this will give you some information and I believe it has a link to the installer. You might actually have to search the web for an installer, but it is a great codec.

Sorry, old chap !
LOL
I did... I honestly DID wonder if I was blowing it there with the NIMO recommendation and that it was possibly/probably for MAC...

Sorrry about that... BUT, but if you do need anything for Windozer driving re: codecs, NIMO is IT...

Ah--thanks.
Still--have you heard of a way to use such codecs cross-platform?

Maybe there needs to be a media forum :p

Hi people!

Now this is really strange. I managed to play my first avi file ever today after downloading a long Chris Rock special through LimeWire. When I was using Kazaa I had downloaded a few movies (in avi format) but with no luck in trying to play them. How come the problems have disappeared? I haven´t installed any codecs or any other players, I simply played the file in WinAmp. The picture was terrible but still, it is a progress.
Anyway, I´m downloading some movies right now, do you all still recommend these codecs? In that case tell me where to go. I´ve tried a few links but they were either invalid or there were costs involved.
