Downloading Problems

[COLOR=indigo][FONT=arial]Yeah I just downloaded LimeWire 2.9.8 a few days afo, and when I go to download a file, the download starts just fine. When it get anywhere from 35%-65% complete it stops a 0KB/s. Also in the status column it still says downloading like nothing is wrong. I have let if go like the for serveral hours but remains the same. Am I doing something wrong?

Source peters out

Hi

This is a not uncommon problem. You are not doing anything wrong. If the download will not restart of its own initiative, it is kill or cure time. Assuming that you have kept the original hit list containing the source host, kill the download and restart the download. If the problem was one of traffic management, you will kick the source back into life and continue downloading from the point it left off.

So always keep the hit lists from which you are downloading — do not let them drop off the end of your search list by default.

And take a pragmatic view of what you have downloaded. The incomplete file will be around for as long as you want. Future searches for the same source can complete the download days later if necessary.

Loss of connection?

Your information is inconveniently incomplete. Have you actually lost connection from the net? ie is there a red light showing in the bottom left hand corner of the display? Do your other internet connected packages work?

If it is not a more general inernet connection problem, uninstalling and throwing away all the current LW, then downloading and installing the latest version of LW is the next step to identifying the nature of the problem.
