![]() I have the newest version of LimeWire installed on a g4 mac o/s 9.1 and plenty of ram. My problem is getting a file to actually download. All seems stable enough and I have gone hours trying hundreds of different types of files with no success downloading anything from anywhere. I have a 56 dial up connection and have tried choosing other modem only downloads as suggested with no success. all the searches go quickly but ill be damned if i can get a file to actually download. any suggestions? P.S. I have used napster for six months with no problems such as this...wtf? |

![]() I also had a lot of problems downloading files. I thought something was set up wrong on my part. Then I found FURI. Furi is the best (for Mac Users) on downloads. It sometimes takes so long that u KNOW its not working and then it does. U may want to read thses: http://www.limewire.com/index.htm Check the developers section A couple of things I have written: http://forums.gnutelliums.com/Forum1/HTML/000032.html http://forums.gnutelliums.com/Forum1/HTML/000024.html MAC users FURI load instructions: http://www.jps.net/williamw/furi/mac_readme.html enjoy ![]() If I may suggest START with Limewire, its easier then switch to FURI, its a better program at this time. |

![]() Thanx 4 the links of info and of course your experience so far with different client apps. I have tried Mactella: got some downloads but was unstable. LimeWire: seems stable enough and interface has lots of function but still no successful downloads? next stop: Furi and I'll report download results after some experimenting. YeeeeeHA!!! |

![]() Well if you read this far: The results are Furi hands down for my g4 Mac. Furi is sluggish untill connected then runs smoothly. Using any of the three "hot" host from the before mentioned links seems to speed the connection process and fill the catcher with lots of options. Downloading goes good although not all choices connect. I have found that if they don't connect within 10 seconds they aint gonna and move on accordingly. Searching seems to get better with each session as is connect time. Oh, and I am sharing files. Dont want to be that "Freeloader" guy. |
