i am using limewire on mac os9.2 and have upgraded most programs now so that all files will open but i am having a problem with .sit files. when i download a .sit program over 5 hours or however long it takes, it goes onto desktop but when i try to open/unstuff the file the only thing happening is that limewire opens. nothing else. why can't i open these files and why do they just act as limewire launch buttons instead ?

For some reason a lot of .sit files save themselves as limewire documents that launch limewire and nothing else. However, if you have downloaded a genuine .sit file you just have to open StuffIt Expander and choose expand from the file menu. Then select the .sit file and it should unstuff.
