Hi! i trashed limewire long time ago, because i couldn`t get any downloads. But there is a way: Download Myster at Download.com , it`s a bit slow to use, but you do get your downloads in a rather fast time secuence. second. download virtual pc if you got a Mac and just install Kazaa or any other p2p program. god luck!!!!!!!! i would read the F.A.Q,s in this forum they will give you a better chance of getting what you want as to you mr.Big i've used approx 50 CD's since november getting what i want so don't write LimeWire off as it just takes a bit of getting used to and death to all the shitheads out there who are Trying to give us duff files (Sorry just had to get that one out) Good Hunting |
could not downlaod i've been using limewire for 12 months - using 2.9.8 - as a mac user its by far the best system I've used - but over the past few days the number of 'could not download awaiting sources' has increased - 9 out of 10 attempts to download - any explanation for this sudden increase in failed attempts? |
Hi Stuart--try downloading the newest version: I can't offer a reliable explanation, but I have much better success searching for files if I'm only connected to the latest hosts, and 2.9.10 crashes far less than 2.9.8 on OS 10.2.4. |
one of the reasons why many downloads don't finish any more is because after limewire 2.8.x the automatic requeries that would re-search for a file after a certain time to find more sources were removed. this means: if you're downloading from, say, 3 hosts, and all these three users disconnect before you're done downloading, limewire won't try to find other hosts serving the same file, i guess it will just stop. however, you can manually re-search for the same file and if limewire finds any new hosts, it will add them to the download queue. this is a bit more work for users, but apparently the automated re-queries were an enormous waste of bandwidth. |
