downloads dont go to library
 

i download music, videos,and photos and none of them go to the library.it shows that the file completed but nothing goes into the shared or incomplete file.i even erased a couple old songs,thinkin maybe im out of room but it still didnt go in.i only have 210 files

Is your shared folder the same as your download folder?

And could you please post your specs?

i dunno what specs r, i never had a problem before and i havent messed with anything so it should be my download file.

Alright, your "specs" are things such as what operating system you use (i.e. windows, mac os, linux, etc.), how you connect to the internet, what version of Limewire you use, and if you are behind a firewall and if so, what kind and how are you getting past it.

Also, Limewire will not start sharing files you have just downloaded unless you refresh the library. This will autmatically occur when you start Limewire, but if you should have downloaded something, you will not see it in the library during that session unless you refresh your library. Does that help?

i have windows xp ,i use dial up connection.and i have the 3.0.2 version. that isnt it becuz i tried refreshing and nothing new came up. i even closed it down and opened limewire agin.

This could be complicated, but let's go through the obvious stuff first.

Go into your preferences and make sure the folder that is being shared is the same as your download folder. If that doesn't work, try trashing your preferences, and start again from there. If that doesn't work, maybe a reinstall would work.

Anyone else have any ideas for this guy?

However, before you do so, go through the list of things above. They ought to fix more or less any problem you have.

Downloads not going to library
 

I just started using the Limewire a couple days ago. Everything was going along fine. I have downloaded about 30 songs.

Now tonight, I have the same problem of the downloads not going to the library.

I have not changed any settings.

Don't know what to tell you. I'm running out of solutions if you've tried everything else.

I do one other thing. It was bug that napster used to have (boy was that a long time ago). If you renamed a harddrive, or any of the folders that had files in them, the same thing would happen. To clarify, this bug would occur if any folder that contained any folder and so and so forth to your MP3s. What i'm trying to say is that for this bug if you changed the name of any of the folders that comprised the directory name of your shared folders (i.e. MacintoshHD/My Music/My Shared MP3s), Napster looked for the old save or share directory and couldn't find it, stalling all operations. The solution was just to go to the preferences and rename the shared and saved folder to the folders you want.

I can't believe this works, but it's worth a shot.
