99%...then nothing

Why do most of my downloads stop between 97-99%. I did everything in the sticky note in terms of filters and what not, but maybe 1 of 12 downloads can actually complete. Why?!?!

Can you give us your specs and more details?

Do ALL of your dls stop and 97-99%? When do they do this? Are you doing anything else when they do this? What errors messages come up?

wolvie July 31st, 2003 07:31 PM

I am using LW client 3.2.3 on Mac OSX. I am using my wireless connection on a 12" Powerbook to conect to my cable modem. I have no other issues with downloading or uploading, only Limewire.
Not all of them do this, probably 80 - 90 percent. The download gets to 97-99% and then just sits there. It says it is still downloading, but there is no speed or time indicators. I have filters allowing only 4 star quality and am blocking 192.168.*.* and 10.*.*.*

Try updating to the most recent Limewire. See if that solves the problem.

It has happened to me using 3 different versions...

What I've done (lately, since the 3.3.3 or so version) is running the installer again so I could use the "fix" feature and it fixed my Lime 2 or 3 times, but after that, it still the same... I've reinstalled it, but after a few weeks, my Download panel appears absolutely

·E·M·P·T·Y·

Really frustrating. Right now I'm downloading the 3.3.5 english version again, to see if there was a bug-fixing or something new I could install since the last time...

Why, why, why?

How could I ever resume a 75% incomplete file, when I've spent an hour & half waiting for that special song I'll never find anywhere else? (believe me, when it's about R·A·R·E music, mixes, remixes, a capella's and instrumentals, in a country where U can't just go to the store to buy something like that... it becomes a real challenge!!!)

Only The Lord knows... :)

By the way, thanx to those who really want & try to help us.

Hey, I was frustrated the other day...

But now I can say I'm totally satisfyied.

I haven't seen "congratulations" posts here very often, but now I want to say that I'm very pleased with my 3.3.5 version.

It's my prerrogative to say I'm very happy because I could download s·u·c·c·e·s·f·u·l·l·y various files. Ain't it...?

Thanx so much to the developers of this great tool. And again, to the ones who always are trying to help us.

But now, should I download the newest 3.3.4 (!?) version? ...

trap_jaw4 August 15th, 2003 11:17 AM

The newest version should be 3.4.4 or 3.4.5 (I don't know if the LW devs managed to upload the latest version to the internet before the blackout). The only improvement compared to 3.3.5 is a "find more sources" button that searches for more sources of stalled downloads.
