I'm trying to sh@re, but its not working out for me...

I am attempting to share part of my collection of multimedia files, that is, the very best ones (several Gigs worth), however, I have encountered some seemingly insurmountable problems . . .

The problem is that 95% of all attempts to upload ends in mysterious disconnections ("error"), for no apperent reason.

Now, I have a <3 Mbps connection, so my upload bandwidth is set to unlimited, since with broadband, it makes little differnce for me.

Uploads speeds (so long as they remain on) are fine -- I'm giving uploaders the 60k/sec they should get. Still, disconnections seem inevitable. I get disconnected as well during my own downloads but not at this highly excessive 95%+ rate -- something is terribly wrong with the integrity of my upstream connectivity, but it only hold true to LimeWire.

I've tried this with a firewall (Zone Alarm, having internet security set to medium) with my remote ip forced (I do have static ip), and I've tried without the firewall -- no difference whatsoever. In either case people are able to download from me at normal speeds, but get disconnected before the file download is complete.

While I'm getting GiGs upon GiGs of files, I return home from work to find that tens-upon-tens of people attempted to download from me and virtually all of them were disconnected. I have a screenshot, but I'm not sure if img code is on, bah, you get the point (or shall I be even more exhaustively thorough? yes, yes I will http://forums.gnutelliums.com/wink.gif ).

My upstream bandwidth and connectivity otherwise is fine. I mean, I give people the same decent speeds in Napster et al., and they are not disconnected, so will the experts please give me some guidance becasue I've tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas. http://forums.gnutelliums.com/biggrin.gif (that's a joke, I've tried everything that I could think of, but I'm very new to networking in general and LimeWire, in particular).

As a final note, I've uninstalled LimeWire, re-downloaded another installer, re-installed, and the problem persists. Maybe there is something with the default settings that's screwing me up, but I've attempted to tweak with virtually every setting before, and whether default settings, or any possible combination of which -- the problem remains. Help me share, I've got the bandwidth, I've got the files, but these damn disconnections I'm sure make a lot of people very frustrated, and nothing I've tried seemed to work so far . . . http://forums.gnutelliums.com/frown.gif

If I may suggest START with Limewire, its easier then switch to FURI, its a better program at this time.
