os9 version perfect/osx useless
 

After testing all music file sharing programs on my i-mac os9,limewire came out tops.It seemed to improve the more i used it.Recently i upgraded to iBook mac os 10.1.4.The same percent of downlownds appear but barely any even begin downloading.I don't know if this is related but after transfering my mp3 collection over to the new itunes,half of them seemed to reduce in lentgh then the whole collection dissapered forever. I would be grateful for any advice. cheers job

Can't help you with the iTunes, but the OSX has a built in firewall that's usually turned on by default. That could well be blocking some connections. The Tip of the Day in the help menu has more details on how to open the firewall in System Preferences->Sharing->Firewall->New->Gnutella/Limewire (6346)

btw--I thought 10.1.5 was the best version of the 10.1 series. Maybe Software Update is turned off?

He is able to connect so he should also be able to download - I don´t think its the firewall.

Are trying to download popular files with many sources? Or rare files? Its possible that the server is busy - what does the status say?
