unwanted downloads

hi im a limewire user and after I successfully downloaded [Edit], I checked my shared folder and found that there were an extra 1200 or so more files that I DID NOT choose to download in my shared folder. So I decided to go to "My Computer" to my shared folder and deleted all these unwanted files- which mostly consisted of programs and some of which were sick stuff- rape games and Angelina Jolia Sex games and other stuff like this. After deleting these unwanted files they were finally gone, but after restarting the comp., these files came back, and increase each time I turn the comp. on. PLS HELP!!!!!How can I stop this?

Hi there, anne_may040 !
Your post has been edited because we do not allow references to copyright infringement within the Gnutella Forums.
To be more honest with you, the BIG CHEESE who is actually boss of these wonderful forums inadvertantly relegated your post to an obscure place far away from any public view.
Hey, at least you know someone is paying attention to you, right ?
Some of the Moderators felt that your post was more than important enough to be reinstated with a suitable edit.
We now hope that your post will receive the answers it deserves and will benefit not only you but the many others who have suffered the same problem.

Have fun...

I saw that one of your posts had been removed by the Administrator because you mentioned copyrighted material you had downloaded.

So I felt it only right to let you know the reason.

It's not acceptable to mention particular files by name, if you need help about a particular problem, you need to be general in your descriptions, if this includes problem files.

Use terms like 'A large File' or something similar.

Your problem is real and needs to be addressed quickly.

Get an anti-virus prog straight away and run it..

I recommend AVG... go here and make sure you download the free version..

Also.. look at anti-trojans.... this is a free trial

------------------------
and.... this is also free....

Spybot...

If none of this works.. come back and see if the guys can help you any further. You may need to delete stuff in safe mode and I've never done that myself.. but I can find out, if no-one comes back to tell us.

Finally, be very, very careful about downloading stuff, especially .exe files.

Hi, gang...

Hey, not sure why you're jumping on the "virus bandwagon"...

This could also, and far more likely, be a case of a nut/weirdo/creep/jerk who has "bundled' a lot of garbage, AND maybe some malicious application, into a 'popular' file for downloading... Rare for any of the anti-virus programs to catch that sort of junk.

A tip for you, anne_may040... When you are going after those 'very popular' files, look for those which have the large number of sources, i.e. the maximum number of ppl sharing EXACTLY the same file with exactly the same size... (The 'match' of an exact file name is not so important.)

This will not completely avoid the problem that you have experienced, but, at the least, you'll know that others are also suffering !
(Joking !)

Yes possible, but such sex files often contains viruses. And what is more important after she deletes the files they come back and increase - this sounds for me like some sort of a worm!

Kath suggested the best way. :)
