poor download speeds I just upgraded to the 3.7.3 Beta on a Win200 machine w/Comcast cable, belkin cable router. I noticed that my download speeds have dropped dramatically. Where I used to be able to download in the 75-100 rance, I am now in the 10-20 range. My downloads start out at about 20 and taper off to 0 where they sit until they reconnect and then the cycle repeats itself again. I am only getting about 10-15 seconds of download time before the speed drops to zero. I also reinstalled my previous version to find the same problem. Any help would be great! |
I recently bought limewire pro and have downloaded the beta version yet my downloads are so slow! I have dsl which is close by and when kazaa was in use my download speeds were in the 100kbs yet with this limewire which i paid for which also says "faster downloads than kazaa" i have yet to even get over 20kbs i dont understand. I have my download speed set to cable/dsl. someone post and tell me whats the deal |
Yep. A good number of those fast downloads are because of students abusing their univerity's internet connection for p2p filesharing. Unfortunately many of them are still on vacation. |
That would make sense right up to the part where I still show a connection to 4 sources on a download but sit at 0 bytes for over 25 minutes on a 4 star download. And the same thing happens to a download via modem, All I get is a short burst. |
The number of stars a doesn't mean that much anymore because some clients send 4 star results even if no free upload slots are available. |
