help....problem downloading limewire

I really want to try out limewire so i wanted to download a free trial version. I have downloaded limewire from the limewire site but have only gotten a small white square on my desktop that I cannot open. What do you think it is that I'm doing wrong? What can I do to download a trial version of limewire? Please help.
