Never-ending download problem One of my downloads indicates 100% progress but does not indicate that it is terminated. It remains connected to the network (multiple hosts are indicated and vary with time), I can see variable download rates but there is no time estimate (it is blanc). This has been going on for hours and restarting Limewire doesn't change anything! Trying to lauch the application doesn't succeed either. Any suggestions. This is a big download that I would rather not kill if possible. |
I have this exact same problem. I am trying to download a 123.6 MB with limewire pro 3.8.6 and it says it is at 100% and downloading from 6 hosts. the time left is blank and it has been like this for over half an hour. I'm running OS X with a DSL connection |
This has been seen before with large swarmed files, but I don't know if it is fixed in 3.9.0. Quitting for a few minutes and restarting LW has worked here using OS 10.2.8. |
Yes. Another variation is to use the stop button, then go in library-incomplete and click the resume button. I've no had this problem since 3.8.5. Bonne chance |

Search for the file again, - and if you find it, kill the download and download the file again. The download will pick up at 100% and complete as it should. As an alternative you could just restart LimeWire. I've been trying to track this bug down for a couple of weeks now but I haven't found it yet. It's difficult to reproduce and my log files aren't very helpful at all. I'm probably going to submit a patch for it once I find the time ( = when I'm done with the THEX stuff). |
Only as a point of interest... As a sharer I experience this problem probably 5-6 times per day, mainly with Shareaza users and, to a much lesser extent, LimeWire users. Probably 50 times with Shareaza for every 1 instance with LimeWire. This was a routine problem with Gnucleus some time ago. Be nice to get the 'completion' problems resolved as they occupy U/L slots for nuthin' !!! Little hope re: Shareaza... Assume soon with LimeWire ! btw - Honest, with a daily Upload average of 850-1,100 files, I have never observed this with a Gtk-Gnutella, Phex or BearShare user. ---------- Forgot to say... In BearShare, in the Uploads Window, I simply right click on the Uploads Page field and select Clear All... Gone. BUT, I cannot say for certain what happens to the person D/Ling from me... Except to say that they don't come back for more. (?) |
