Moving the Incomplete/Shared Directories

I ran out of disk space on C:\ and I would like to move the Shared and especially the Incomplete folder to the open D:\ directory.

How is this done safely? I am aware that i can reset the locations of both directories in the configuration settings, sure. But im concerned about the partially downloaded files in Incomplete. If I copy everything over (while limewire is not active), and then load it up to change the settings.... once i reset the locations will it still work? Who has done this? Experience anyone? Thanks.

Yes, Shared directory moving is easy. However, i have the most diskspace taken in the Incomplete. There has to be a way to do that. Why is it locked?

Can the list be "regenerated" once moved? I'd hate to lose the many Gig of partially downloaded files, but the truth is, that nothing more can download since there is no space. It must be moved, or many of the large (yet desired) partial files must be deleted in order to continue using LimeWire on this computer.

Perhaps one of the coders knows a trick, or can write something helpful into the next version for this issue. (I can't be the only one to face the problem.)

Salut Cougar, I would test to create a new incomplete folder in d: set it up as defaut in LW and then copy paste downloads.bak and downloads.dat into the new incomplete. Now copy paste a partial that you know finding sources for it is easy. Search for that item in LW and try dling the identical results, it should resume downloads. If it works, simply copy all the content of c: incomplete into d: incomplete while LW is shutdown and then start LW. (in theory it should work on windows as it is on os x).

Bonne chance

My bad, LW should be creating an incomplete folder in the directory where you select to save your files in options (at least in osx...). So Cougar doesn't have to create a new incomplete folder, just overwrite the .bak and .bat files and putting a partial to test like I said in my previous post.

Suggestion?

So are you guys suggesting that making a new location and changing the config to point there, and copying the bat and bak and files to it, that it wont BREAK the old filestructure and if the new one fails, its still possible to backup and repoint to the old untouched directory and expect it still to work??? Hmmmm.... i think ive tried this before and failed. Has anyone experience doing this with good success yet? In theory it sounds great.
