Highest download speed is 1kbs
 

I'm guessing something is wrong here bc since I downloaded limewire on Friday I have not gotten download speeds faster than 1-3kbs and that's with PRO and my firewall down. Are things supposed to be this slow?

I've tried all the FAQ tricks supplied by LimeWire and Google groups, to no avail.

Somebody help me please so I don't have to dump this software after spending $20 to upgrade.

Oh yeah, I have Verizon Ave. DSL, windows xp, Zone Aware firewall, and my computer screams -- brand new Gateway laptop

I'm testing just fine, still downloading crappy
 

My download speeds fall between 900 and 1.2 kps but my upload speeds are just under 300.

Might it be my firewall? I was at a friends house this morning. He had a slower computer, Winmx and was downloading at least 30 kps.

I came home, installed winmx, and had no better success?
Could I be having Java issues

At 1-2 kps, these programs are pretty useless to me.
