Help, lol again!!!

Hi all ok I managed to download a ton of songs, move them to my windows media player and burn my 1st CD . Hold on a second. Ok I had to pat my back. Now to the question. When I played my CD I was sorely disappointed. Got inot some real good songs and then silence..... most of the songs were only part of them. (hehehe almost like bad sex, just as it gets going good it's over before the good part). When I'm downloading songs how do you know if it's the full song?? or lol the better question WHy would someone even have bits and peices of a song anyway? Thanks ahead for the help.
