"File Corrupted"- contatnly, even in v4.0.6

Hi there,
Been using Limewire for ages, with no probs.
Just recently though, getting "file corrupted" on 9/10 downloads.
Downloaded v4.0.6, in the hope thi might sort things, but no luck...still virtually all downloads = corrupted.
Please help; I've got used to Limewire, usually excellent, but if this carries on, will be looking for an alternative.
Many thanks,
Tony

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. It's strange, the exisiting files I already had downloading prior to this happening are fine, but new downloads all experience the 'corrupt file' message either part-way or after finished download. Also, the download speeds are actually faster than what I've got - something else weird about this problem. Any suggestions please??

Surely someone must have an answer to this?
Is it a con to make us buy the pro version?
I'm looking for an alternative site, sorry guys.

gnutella is a network for users, not a site. If you think that by using LimeWire you are going to a site, you may have been scammed by site that sucker the innocent.

OTOH, unusually fast downloads are probably misleadingly named files (check their sizes to be sure). If you are getting too many corrupt files that you know should be good, then your downloads.dat and .bak files may have become corrupted (quit, delete the incomplete folder--this loses all the old incompletes--and a new, uncorrupt one will be created next time you open LW).

As for Pro--get it to support gnutella development, not for any 'tricks'. Scam sites ask for money before you try--LW doesn't.

If you want 'alternative sites' try here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=24819
