Can't Download
 

Hi I have been using limewire for a while now and I have never had a problem but all of a sudden I can't download anything. It says that it is connecting but that is as far as it goes. Do you know why this may be?

Can you supply more details? What's your computer configuration, LW version, platform, internet connection, what you observe in greater detail, anything on your computer that may have changed since you noticed your problem (e.g.: installed new software, updates to OS, etc.)

How full is your incomplete Library (no. of files), how many files you're attempting to download at present? How long is it since you checked your computer with diagnostic utility software?

Sorry I have been away for a while and have no access to a computer. In reply to your questions I will try to answers them all.

I have windows XP, and my internet connection is via a network. we have boardband i think.

What I do is do the search and pick the file I want and then click on download. Then in the download part at the bottom of thwe screen it just says connecting for about 4 minutes and then say needs more sources even thou there are like 35 sources when i do another search.

No every thing is the same on my computer. but i have updated the version of limewire to see if that is what the problem was.

none I have deleted them all.

Since it stopped letting e download I have only tried to download one at a time

I have no idea what this is. so I guess never.

My freind at work has also got limewire and theirs is working.

Are you behind a firewall?

Is Limewire connected when it tells you it needs more sources?

yes it is connected when it says that I have 24 hour connection at work when I turn my computer on it is connected to the internet. I have no idea if we have a firee wall I don't thing so. how can I found out?

No, I don't mean your computer. I mean if Limewire is connected to the Gnutella network. Check your connections tab or look at the bottom left corner of the screen where it says "quality".

Yes it says excellent or turbo. how can i find out if i have a firewall? however my workmate would alsohave a firewall i guess and his works fine

Hmmm.... if it connects it should work fine. You can't download ANYTHING??? Try doing a search for a very popular file (20+ sources) and see if you can download it.

im having the same problem
 

i cant download anything..my connection is fine i dont have any firewall issues i just cant download anyhing.. my problems are directly consistent with czechmans.. can someone please help??
