need more sources and no uploads

sorry new user...... need more sources...... awaiting.....only 1 host....... at least 30 files unable to download first week was ok but now i cant get anything to complete i have several from the last part of first week upto 75% done was this or is this because

a)i had a firewall config problem
b)users could not see me so banned me from downloading
c)or have the hosts just gone on holiday from home, work or school

also i have had several hits on my shared files but not 1 person has uploaded from me am i a leper can they not access my files or do i just not have what they want

running
xp sp1
new cable modem, bband
pccillin anti virus and firewall
xp int/net firewall
read post on download/upload problems re-config all firewalls to LW ip 127.0.0.1 tcp/udp
also have adware and spybot will these hinder or help or n/a

while posting this i searched for 3 audio files they connected but still at 0% 20 mins later i want to share my files but i also want to download too, it was a great 4 days download but it seems to have stopped now if i have done anything wrong i will correct it

i can see my ip on whatismyIP.com 62.252.64.14 so i would think it would work ok on uploads

to get downloads try to increase the number of files you share you do this by going in tools, options, sharing and you'll figure how to add folders(click add and select a folder). you can also go in tools, options, downloads and check that your maximum downloads number is high put it at whatever you want as long as it's not 0 :)

by increasing the files that you share you might get more uploads cause maybe you don't have popular files like you said. you should also go to tools, options, uploads, slots and make shure that you have more than 1 space for uploads.

I have a similar problem. Though my settings show I have 5 upload slots and none are used. In winmx i have over 100 in my queue in less than 2 minutes and the same files here i never see anyone uploading at all. I share almost 1000 files.

I use zonealarm pro 5

Also when i set a file to download, within 2 minutes it needs more sources. So I tried searching for it again (repeating the search) and there it is again, same ip too. Other times more than one user that has it shows yet it's always set to needing more sources.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hope this will be of some help : Have a look at the 1st post here & more refinements according to your setup. Searching techniques might also help.

If you're not sure about your firewall situation see this.
