Question

I'll second this problem running XP as well. It's the invasion of the Ultrapeers even when they are turned off.

What??
Ultrapeer is a status you attain if you have a Turbo-Charged connection to the Gnutella network and only if you have enabled Ultrapeer capabilities.
What do you mean that there are still people that are trying to connect to you through Ultrapeer?
And by internet dld limit do you actually mean speed?
To see if you are really a Ultrapeer, then go to Monitor and enable incoming searches viewing. If you're not an Ultrapeer then a message will pop telling you that you're a leaf node shielded by one.
Also, other Ultrapeers connecting to you even if you're not one is good: this is what enables you to, uh, be connected to the net, so to speak.

Your client is a leaf node shielded by an Ultrapeer. Hence you will see few or no searches in the monitor window. Then under "connections" I have (6 Ultrapeers, 0 Peers, 0 Leaves, 0 Connecting, 0 Standard) as a Title Bar over this kind of action: see attached screen shot - you'll see hundreds of outgoing messages all referencing "Ultrapeer over 6 connections.

I mean like participating in the network is one thing, but this goes after my processor as well as my bandwidth. It's like hey guys, rkz just volunteered to be a network server if I understand this correctly. That's why I'm asking for help. Seems kind of screwy. Thanks

Salut RZK, at the moment you are a leaf!! LW pro (seen on screenshot) connects to 6 UPs instead of 4 for the basic version. If you were an UP you would try to maintain 32 UPs connections and 30 leaf connections.

How many files are you sharing, as 6 UP should not consume much bandwith (maybe 0,1 KB/s)???

Bonne chance

Thanks, but are you saying that it is not possible to shut them down when desired?
