Windows Media Player and CD

After I download a limewire file, the windows media player says it cannot open it due to an error format 55. What does this mean?

I'm not sure why you'd want to be opening LW using WMP. hehehe - joking. Microsoft is a greedy co. They offer a so-so quality media player & if u want something better you must pay. But in both cases u must obtain xtra codecs to play all the different formats of movies & music out there. Microsoft is heavy into licencing & putting licencing requirements on movies & music controlled by them! Get a better player & for free!!! Or get the codecs that wmp needs. A search of the forum will show you where to find sources for wmp codecs. Or for AVI Players & for audio check out QCD. Sorry I don't know that wmp error code. But all the same, I hope I've been of some help to you And don't be shy to check ut the links I've given u. Oh I just realised your topic mentioned CD, I don't know waht u mean by that?

Thanks

Thanks for your help!!

I meant that in addition to my WMP problems, I have CD Creator which will not copy the files....any thoughts....????

CD Creator will burn normal mp3's. But for WMA files, either get a wma converter, or depending on the version of wmp, some wmp's can burn cd's. Perhaps that's the pro/advanced version I don't know. Do a google. I came up with the following just quickly: http://www.cooolsoft.com/powerconvertor.htm & http://www.mp3-converter******advanced-mp3-wma-recorder/ & http://www.mightsoft.com/ & http://www.audioutilities.com/download.htm & also see this thread for free burners : http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=26708 Hope that helps.
