connected, but no download I am connected to LW through a network (as well as through a firewall). I am now able to get good connections at times, but when I queue a file for download, it sits there until finally saying Need More Sources, even when its grouped. Am I doing something wrong? Should I re-configure my preferences a certain way? Thanks! edit: I am running version 4.0.7 on OS X, with a DSL Ethernet connection. This is why I am surprised everything is acting so slow |
I don't think theres anything wrong with the program but I think that when you stop a file from downloading on LW and other clients it sometimes takes it a long time to connect again. try to downlaod the file as soon as it gets in the downlaod window |
As stupididiot69er suggested, the more files you share, the easier it is to get connected. There's 2 main reasons for this. Many people only allow those sharing a certain no. of files to connect with them, be that 5, 50 or 500 for example. Also those that upld from you allow you to connect to other peers & not ony improve your connection quality but also improves your search results. If you search for sources it will help a file to connect. And using a search & dwnld technique is important here's an example of what I mean (click on link.) |
that's pretty sweet so that's why since I share like heck I get better results and downloads thanks LOTR now i understand, and I don't just know that it works.. you can learn so much here |
my connection is "supercharged", i find a file with around 80 sources, click download and it says "Need More Sources." This is ridiculous, why is this happening? Thanks for all the help |
Having a good search & dwnld technique helps, see: for some hints (click on link.) Sometimes LW needs some attention paid to it, yet other days it'll open & continue dwnlds on its own. |
I have the same problem, buy everyone seems to be able to download from me......its a little frustrating. |
