Default Confused and need help

I have read all the hints and things to do to make your downloading faster and it still does not work. I have Windows ME and cable internet from csi cable and my speed is 512k It used to be fast and now it is slow, my internet is fast, but my connection quality in Limewire bounces back and forth betwwen poor and supercharged but even then my downloads are very slow at a speed of 0 to 1kbs. I want my download speed to get faster and more reliable please help me

any information would be nice
thanks

This is what all other also want. When you have done the recommended settings there is nothing more what you can do, why? Its very simple this here is called p2p. this means that you are downloading from people like you and me and not from big fast servers. There are many people which are using a 56k modem and canīt offer more than 1Kb...

Make sure you don't have too many 'forced' resume files! These send out searches on their own evry few mins & if there's many of them, they will fill up your upld bandwidth & affect both your connection quality & searches. Forced resumed files are identified by status messages such as: Waiting #secs for Sources, ends up as Awaiting Sources if can't connect compared to Need more resouces as a failure to connect for normal searching. Also try not to dwnld too many files at one time. If you're uplding, you'll be able to get better connection quality, connect to more peers, get better search results & potentially better/more resourses to dwnld from. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1
