"need more sources" hell

I'm running Limewire Basic on an iMac (OS 9--old skool). I've been using it for a couple months with no problems, but now, suddenly, everytime I try to download a file, I get the message, "need more sources." I've read a lot of posts here and tried several things, to no avail: sharing more files, changing my download options, downloading files with many sources, clicking refresh, downloading a newer version of the software. I don't know what to do next. Help? Thanks.

Try not to dwnld too many files at once!!! Sometimes you need to baby-sit LW & manually do more manual searches for resources for a particular file. Sometimes although that file seems to be listed it has a different dwnld hash (differnt size/sthig else). Way to be sure is if it has the dwnld icon in the search window. Sometimes yo may need to search continually for a particular file, ele give the efforts & time to your next priority & so on. If you have many incomplete files then it's normal for many not to connect & signify 'needs more resources'.

Thanks, LOTR. You and others here have been very helpful.

Nice penguins, btw.

Thanks! I can't post the actual full size of the penguin bit but I can show you the biggest I'm allowed (edited version) on this forum that's larger than this one: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...118#post101118

What if there ARE no more sources?

I find a rare song I'm trying to get, and it all seems fine (eg, Cable/DSL), tell it to download, and it says "connecting....." for a few seconds then says "Need more sources."

What's so darned frustrating, is if it needed more sources, why did it come up on the list of hits in the first place?

This morning I found two songs I"d been looking for and was very excited, only to get that message.

Can't I d/l from just ONE source??

Search again (if it shows up but doesn't start dwnlding, delete it from the dwnld window & reselect it from the search window results) &/or try again another day. Here's some search & dwnld hints (click on link.)
