Can't Launch LW Pro
 

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently purchased LimeWire Pro 4.0.8 inadvertently through mymusicinc.com.
I already had an earlier version of LW, which I purchased in March of this year that worked perfectly. I thought this was a different company because they said I would receive a bonus package enabling me to download movies also. Upon completion of my on line payment of 24.95 through PayPal, I was directed to LimeWire's website and the LimeWire Pro was installed on my system overriding my prior program. Now I no longer have a working program. I continually get messages that there's a runtime error. I downloaded a newer version of java as suggested, but I'm still getting the same message and the program won't launch. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

If you didn't purchase it directly from LW, you can't be 100% sure it was the actual LW page. There's some scam sites that do a version of LW & have a 'very' similar webpage. For a start, yo should have only paid $18.88! I would recommend you contact your banking/credit card co. & cancel the transaction. And then purchase the LW Pro version from http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml which is the official LW dwnld site. Because LW allows their code to be open, there's also other parties who do their own (inferior) versions & then send their clients here for support. A bit of a cheek really. But luckily you're not a 1st time LW user.

If you'd prefer to try out the free version 1st (particularly after what you've been thru), then do that & see how that version fares. Any probs get back to us.

Thank you so very much for such a prompt reply. I guess there's truth to "buyer beware" Thanks for all the info too. Please tell me if I should delete everything I have for LW, and then try downloading the trail version. What happened to the standard version I ordered from you directly? I can't locate it on my computer.

Can I get another copy of the edition I originally paid for?

mymusicinc.com is a scam site you should ask your money back, cancel the payment if they don´t refund your money.
