All transfers are interrupted within 1 second of their request to download. My router port is being forwarded and I have no problem with any other application using port forwarding. I have a static ip address from my ISP. NO OTHER FIREWALL is being used. Downloads and searches are fine.

Can someone please help?

This is not really my type of thread to answer, but I'm just prodding for some xtra info & clarification for others to consider for answering. What type of connection do you have (cable/adsl, etc.) & what speed rating up & dwn? Check your Statistics (LW's menu Tools-Statistics (here you can tick Advanced if you wish). What types of results have you for your 'uplding' attempts?

stief October 16th, 2004 07:53 PM

Are any of the hosts on your connections page listed as "Incoming"? There's something odd with your connections
Quote:

Number of Ultrapeer -> Ultrapeer Connections: 24

Number of Ultrapeer -> Leaf Connections: 0
This could just be because you grabbed the info early in the start-up sequence . . .

I am on a commercial grade cable 768Kup/5.5Mdown. I have seen an occasional Incoming on the connections page but don't see any at the moment. Specs are:
Intel P4 3.2ghz Hyperthreaded
1GB DDR ram in dual mode
Linksys Cable Modem
Linksys Cable/DSL Router (use ports 6346 or 32122 and back to 6346 no difference)
TrendMicro turned off and on (no difference)

Cobra8007 October 16th, 2004 10:23 PM

Here is a screenshot, hope it helps.

(screenshot deleted)

I do show one incoming but all of the uploads show Transfer Interrupted.

Thanks
Tom

Hmm--you should be seeing ~30 peers and ~30 leaves (total of 60 hosts), and 1/2 of them "incoming."

Your stats show "Guess Capable: false", so check the port-forwarding on the Linksys to see if it's allowing UDP as well as TCP (both need to be checked).

Lord of the Rings October 16th, 2004 10:49 PM

As already said, this is not my type of thread, but before I bought my D-Linkys adsl modem, I did read on the web that the linkys cable modem & another brand get hot after a while & can suffer from dropped packets. Their solution was to run a fan onto the modem which seemed to fix it. This may have nothing to do with the situation at hand, but I thought I'd mention it.

Cobra8007 October 17th, 2004 07:28 AM

Both TCP and UDP are forwarded. And the modem and router are cool.
I do run an FTP, Website, SMTP, and Email services on the same server without any problems at all. I had installed and used Limewire about a month ago to test it out and it worked fine. I uninstalled it thinking that I would use it on a different system but changed my mind and put it back on. Now it doesnt upload anything and nothing has changed about my system.

stief October 17th, 2004 07:44 AM

I've emailed my sample bug report to you (takes up too much space here). Perhaps the comparison will help.

5mbit/s down; 1 mbit/s up cable
LinkSys router serving two switches on the LAN
all OS X machines, however.

Salut, that's weird. You do not seem firewalled. You can upgrade to java 1.5, http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp (take the JRE). Also I would disable UP mode to test uploads as you are less likely to be searched (less uploads) running as UP -options-speed -desactivate UP mode. I also see that you share 3089 files which is on the high side. The way Gnutella works, it is bad to share too much files because of the Query Routing Proposal (QRP) system. Once you have a QRP over 60% the routing efficiency drops a lot meaning that you receive all searches instead of searches for the files you share. Try to lower that amount to around 1000, keeping only rarer files or files you want to keep spreading.

Bonne chance
