Help Please
 

This is my first time downloading here.......in the middle of downloading songs, it stopped for about 15 minutes, like it was stuck or something...the connection said it was good, but the downloads just weren't moving. Can someone please tell me why? :confused:

Does your computer freeze? If yes, then you may be in need of a java update: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp But if it doesn't freeze, then you may just need to urge the dwnlds on a bit.

Do another search for more sources. Search results go stale after a certain amount of time. Some days, LW needs just that bit of baby-sitting. If it stops, delete it from the dwnld list & re-select to dwnld from the search results. If it doesn't start dwnlding, do another search.

No, the computer itself did not freeze, only the downloads that had been going. Then they started back up after about 15 minutes. I did not delete them, just went to another search and it eventually continued. I have the latest Java (I think) LOL.

Which version of limewire is that you're using? The last time I saw anything like that was with version 2, or with another p2p app (the 1st one I tried before LW - except it would freeze the comp for 15 mins at a time.)

I have no idea which version it is. :( When i typed in limewire it took me to downloads.com and thats where I got it from. :confused: Is there a newer version of it elsewhere?

This is the official download site: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml But the free version does in fact link thru the www.download.com/LimeWire site. The most recent official release is LW 4.0.8 So you're OK.
