Very slow downloads from many hosts.

Limewire Pro 4.0.8 says downloading from as many as 8 hosts, but at only 3KB/s or less (often zero). I have a Cable connection, Windows XP , Athlon 64 3400+. Older versions of Limewire Pro worked fine. This is a new computer so I decided to get the new version assuming everything would be faster, big disapointment. Downloading a movie takes weeks!

You might just be unlucky & those sources only have limited upld capacity available. You could do a search for more resources to freshen them up. Otherwise I can think of 3 things. It might be temporary & if you restart your comp you might solve the issue. 2. Delete your Preferences folder which is called .limewire This can be found at: OS X: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire
Windows: C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire
Linux: ~/.limewire
Or simply do a search for .limewire
3. Optimising LW: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27036 I hope you'e not using more than one p2p app at the same time.

I deleted the limewire folder, which did'nt help, plus I lost the 76% of a movie I was slowly downloading for the past 3 weeks!
Thanks a lot!:(

The only folder you should have trashed is the one called .limewire There's no reason why you should've lossed your movie file!!! Tossing out your prefs shouldn't do that unless you've tossed out your incomplete prefs which are found in the incomplete folder (downloads.dat) Also I hope you didn't delete the movie file from the Library window b/c that will delete it from your comp. Delete it only from your dwnlds list only in the search/front window if you're having probs.

I think you'll find if you do another LW search for that file & select to dwnld the identical one from the same sources it will show up as 76% dwnlded.
