unable to open downloads
 

i'm new to lw. on mac os 8.6
i can download things (programs/videos etc) but the dloads appear in my shared folder as 'limewire documents' and they don't unstuff or open any way.
'downloads.dat' and 'downloads.bak' remain in my incomplete folder.
what am i doing wrong?

That's normal for Downloads.dat & bak to remain in incomplete folder (these are your dwnlds prefs & should not be moved!) Once a file has completed dwnlding LW will move it from the incomplete folder to your LW dwnld folder. If your docs are blank, then try drag & drop onto expander. Also have a look in the mac section of the forum & you'll find answers to your questions. for hearing my woes... however the files don't expand (nothing at all happens) they just sit there as lw docs, with their generic cornered page icons, and mock me.
