Default Internal error message-Help

Ok have been using lime wire for a few months back in the spring with no problem, then i had a time where i didn;t have net access so now that i'm back online, have come to use it again, have upgraded to latest version but i keep getting the same problem, it starts running very slow and i get the'beachball of death' (its a mac) and then a box appears saying there is an internal error, would i like to send a report. I've tried setting to all the different options (yes send a report, show a review and never send a report and none of them work) Most times i have to force quit the programme
its getting really annonying.
Any help to fix this wuld be appreciated
(i have broadband internet access now where as before i had dial up)

Make sure your Java is up to date. And do a Safe mode startup & Repair Permissions. See this thread (click on link.) If that doesn't work, delete the LW Prefs: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

I'm not a windows user so I can't remember which control panel to use to check the java version. However you can update here: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp

lol sorry about that. I was getting confused b/w threads. Your java sounds fine. Do my other suggestions about a system check & get back to us. Did you also try deleting your LW prefs.?

In your LW prefs & Speed tick disable ultrapeer abilities.
If you've tried all of above suggestions & still same, try the beta 4.1.8 : http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1

How much RAM do you have?

i repaired disk permissions and did a safe mode start, i've also used mac janitor and ran all tasks.
I have 512 mb ram. Have been watching the system monitor and when limewire is opened my free memeory drops right down (went as low as 6 mb) When i closed lime wire it shot back to 180.
I have also installed the beta version and still not right.

Bummer! It does sound like a ram issue. The ram is related to Java which for OSX is not very ram user friendly. For the time being, close your Connections window in LW (I've heard that can use up considerable ram) which is found under View Show/Hide. Also, it might also be wise to use Auto-Clear Completed Dwnlds found in your LW Prefs-Downloads. Another thing is to clear any old searches that have been sitting there for several hrs. Which OSX version do you have? Did you install the so-called english version or insternational version LW? Do you other apps whilst using LW? Try the above suggestions & tell me if it makes any difference.

i have 10.3 and have downloaded the latest updates from apple. I guess the beta download came from the 'english' page although i cant remember! I do have a few other apps open when using lime wire, usually just i tunnes and safari and maybe messenger but thats about it. It did get better last night when i closed a few things down. We'll see how it goes, i'll implement your suggestions and also try to save up for another 512mb ram! Thanks for your help.
