Ipod - Download

Hi

I am a novice to the MP3 world and was hoping for some help.....I have been struggling to download the shareware fles to either my hard drive or direct to ephpod (which is used to sync) to my new mini ipod. It seems that the files when synched actually look like they show up in ephpod but not within the ipod device. I am wondering if the files I am reading from the limewire share ware site is causing the inability to get these files to either my hardrive or ephpod.?

Once again sorry for perhaps a very lame question but I can use some help.

Best

It is best to import your dwnlds to iTunes 1st before attmpting to import them to your iPod. As soon as you connect your iPod, your iTunes will update it with its playlist! See here for text & movie tutorials for iTunes & iPod: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/...ial/index.html

Hi Lord of the Rings

That was easy and quite informative....Thanks alot!!

Now, I may reload I Tunes again since my friend told me to go with Ephpod which may be part of the problem also. My question and i guess you may know is the majority of files that I am downloading from LW are MPEG files. However looking at the Ipod mini user guide it explains that "ipod mini does not support MPEG Layer 1 ort MPEG Layer 2 audio files". Do you think the majority of the downloaded LW are this type. Would this be the cause of me not being able to see the files on the device? Thanks again as I hope I am close to solving this!

Best

mp3 & m4a/mp4 MPEG-4 AAC are supported by iTunes. As for some of the older mp1/2 formats I don't know. I suspect iTunes might not support these earlier formats.

Here's some links about mp3 & mpeg audio formats: http://rfc3003.x42.com/
