Error -37 = HELP!!!

Whenever i download an image, it does so successfully, even gives me a preview in the shared folder, but when i go to open it, it gives me an error stating that the image "cannot be opened due to an error, and the error number is -37".........WTF IS GOING ON???!!!

It'd help if you told us which OS version you're using. You can search for -37 or error or mount or image. If you're using OS8 or 9 may I suggest you update your version of StuffIt Expander.

version 4.2.3, and as a newbie, i have no knowledge of StuffIt Expanders, would the fact that i run Win 98, be a problem and how would i go about finding info on my Expander??

Did you install the english version or insternational version. May I suggest you update your Java: Java 1.4.2 What application are you using to try to open the file & what type of file is it? Keep in mind that if you attempt to open any type of file other than audio or video from the incomplete folder, it will NOT open & yes you will receive an error message. Only video & audio files can be previewed. No attempt should be made to preview/open any other type of file unless it has 100% downloaded & been moved by LW to your LW Dwnld folder. To know where that is go here: LW's menu Tools>Options>Saving & this will tell you the name, location & path of the LW dwnld folder. If you wish this file to appear in LW's Library window, then it will need to be shared. You can add this as a shared folder here: Tools>Options>Sharing & press both Apply & OK buttons when you've finished.

Yea, yea, i know all about how LW operates, no I have never tried to preview an image, and yes i have the latest java runtime, yes i know the exact location of my dowloaded files in their shared folder, when clicked in in the actual C: Shared folder, they even give a small preview in the properties column, but when attempted to open to full size, it gives the error. "and the the error number is -37".
I cant believe no-one else has experienced this bull$hit, iv searched all forums, i seem to be alone, lastly, does Win 98, have ANY effect on the problem?? and i try to view the images with Quicktime Picture Viewer, if that has any other bearing.

Even searching the net I couldn't find anything on error -37 for win 98. The best I came up with were in reference to error 37: Error codes for windows 98 lol :D & this & that win 98 forum.

I sould imagine you shouldn't be attempting to open images that are incomplete. Most apps will give some type of error.

How old is your QT Picture Viewer app? Over recent years there's been new variations on older formats. eg: jpeg 2000, new TIFF format with new compression variations & unflatened options, newer PSD versions, etc. all of which Picture viewer that's not up to date will not be able to open.

Perhaps you should try another image viewer app or update your QT.

Have you tried IrfanView to open your image from your shared folder ?
And BTW what extention do your saved images have ? (like image.jpg or image.bmp)

Never mind, it seems the file name was too long for pictureviewer to handle, i just renamed the picture and it was right.
