i was wondering how do you turn off your file sharing? i went to sharing in the tools window and deleted folders to be shared. is that all i have to do? i need a response asap!!!!

Yes! So long as you pressed BOTH the Apply & ok buttons.

That's fine. We don't give backing to dwnlding where it compromises rules & generally suggest to users of school services to 1st check with school policy. Different schools have different policies regarding that. But all the same we warn such persons to be aware of the rules & find out whether it's permitted/not.
