Major downloading Problems need Help

NEED HELP NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

Few days ago my computer crash so I had to reinstall everthing I downloaded LimeWire (now I've been useing LimeWire for about two years with no problems) when I go to download music or music videos I can use the music in itunes or the music videos in QuickTime Player. I ask some people some said to rebuild my desktop which I did that didn't work another person said to reinstall Limewire I did that that too didn't work. Few other people told me that Limewire isn't working for imacs classic ( I have imac 9.1) that I have to get imac osx. Sometimes when I get really lucky a QuickTime Mp3 will show up and I can play that in itunes but lately I been getting a paper like document sheet showing up. Before my computer crash I was using LimeWire with no problem but when I went to download LimeWire after getting my computer working the outlook of LimeWire change. This problem has been frustrateing me alot I dont know if I am the only one who is having this problem or I am the only one with this bad luck. Is there anyone who can help please get back to me ASAP so i can get this fix and start downloading and burning music/music videos again like normal. If anyone has any infor I will be greatfully thankfull if you can help me.

Is there any reason you don't at least update to OS 9.2.2? Have a look at the following link & its related links to updates for Java & hints for RAM & installation updates HERE (click on link)

Sorry for the indirect link but you may find some answers here about the blank doc icons OR do a search of the forum for the word blank.

I suppose it's up to you whether you wish to update to OSX. It's a far superior OS & it's ram management is superb. No more crashes. If any app crashes, OSX closes off that ram so it doesn't affect the system so you can simply re-launch the application. Same applies for the Classic environment which is OS9 run under the supervision of OSX. If it crashes you can simply relaunch it. Classic is a little limited though. Many OS9 utilites can't run in it. Java is advancing & so it LW & the Gnutella network. So having the recent OS & apps will help stop problems like you'e facing now. There's a G4 400MHz here running without problems in OS 10.3.5 with only 192 MB RAM & a 20 GB HDD. Potentially G3's can also run OSX. More ram can help though.

Thanks you so much for your reply I guess i am not the only one who has this problem with Limewire so if I update this problem will go away how do I update?

No this problem may not go away if you update your OS to 9.2.2 & your Java to MRJ 2.2.6 But it should reduce chances of any other problems having a later version of Java. In one of the links to another link Stief gives a solution by using a 3rd party utility. See Stief's suggestion here

Updates needed for OS 9.2.2 & Java MRJ 2.2.6 for OS 9.2.2

People should really be starting to think about upgrading to OSX b/c the Gnutella network works on Java & it is now so much more advanced than the OS 9 version of Java. Besides OSX has so many other advantages. No more crashing computers b/c OSX's management of RAM is superb. It identifies the ram that has corrupted porblems & closes it off from other apps & the system. So you simply reopen the app or Classic (OS9 run under OSX) without having to restart the computer. It's fantastic! ;) :)
